Urgent Support Required

for Children with Special Needs and Disabilities in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa

Hurricane Melissa Appeal for Help

The island of Jamaica has just been devastated by Hurricane Melissa — one of the strongest storms in recent memory. In the wake of this disaster, countless families caring for kids with special needs and disabilities are left without homes, without power, and without the basic comforts many of us take for granted. Roads are blocked, homes are flooded or destroyed, and recovery will take weeks—if not months.

As you can well imagine, these individuals face extra layers of vulnerability in disasters. They are not getting the specialised care, routines, equipment, and safe spaces, most of which were lost when everything else is disrupted. We are for your support as we mobilise to send supplies to families caring for these special children in Jamaica who desperately need it now.

In a moment like this, the difference between disaster and recovery often comes down to human kindness. Your willingness to stand with these children and their families at this time means more than words can say.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring. Thank you for acting.

With gratitude,
The volunteers at Camptys Foundation.

Our Annual Donations

Here's a glimpse of what we've been up to

We started in 2013 and every year we have been able to bless the lives of children in various Caribbean countries. We have collected and distributed gifts of toys, clothing, bedding, nappies, educational supplies and a range of ad hoc items that our donors have been kind enough to give.

We have sent barrels to Jamaica, Guyana, Barbados, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda.

Without our volunteers, it would not be possible
